Testimonials

"Listening to the birth affirmations was extremely relaxing and I just had [my husband] start it from the beginning whenever it ended. Between the birth affirmations and long deep breaths I was really very comfortable for most of the labor, especially when I was in the tub." --Ann, MBB Student

"A pregnant woman is like a beautiful flowering tree, but take care when it comes time for the harvest that you do not shake or bruise the tree, for in doing so, you may harm both the tree and its fruit." --Peter Jackson, R.N.

"All natural birth has a purpose and a plan; who would think of tearing open the chrysalis as the butterfly is emerging? Who would break the shell to pull the chick out?"
--Unknown

What is a doula?
A doula...

  • Assists the woman and her partner in preparing for and carrying out their plans for the birth...

  • Stays by the side of the laboring woman throughout the entire labor...

  • Provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint and assistance to the woman in getting the information she needs to make good decisions...

  • Facilitates communication between the laboring woman, her partner and clinical careproviders...
